Benaki Museum, The building at 138 Pireos Street
The Benaki Museum is one of the greatest private museums of Athens, with many buildings spread in the city. Each one is specialized in different kinds of art (such as the Benaki Museum of Islamic Art or the Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika Gallery). The Building at 138 Pireos Street serves as the new Cultural Center of the Benaki Museum.
The super modern building occupies an area of 8,200 sq.m. with underground areas of 2,800 sq.m. and an interior atrium of 850 sq.m. The exhibition grounds cover an area of 3,000 square meters, the auditorium has a capacity for 300 people and there are also rooms for the services of the museum. The atrium, which is the core of the cultural center, can host outdoor exhibitions, musical events, shows, etc. The restaurant and the bookshop complete the picture.
The building at 138 Pireos Street usually hosts the most alternative exhibitions of the Museum Benaki. We should add that at the premises of the cafeteria, the Museum Shop, the Atrium and the Auditorium the Wi-Fi is free.

Closed on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and the whole August. Ticket prices: Temporary exhibitions: (full) 4 to 6 euros, (reduced) 2 to 3 euros. Unified ticket: 20% discount on the total cost of the tickets of all exhibitions at the day of visit. Free entrance every Thursday (from 5/3/2015 to 5/3/2016).
