Коронисия
Остров Каронисия, расположенный неподалеку от Арты, выделяется среди своих соседей. Во-первых, это крупнейший остров Амбракийского залива. Во-вторых, единственный обитаемый остров во всем регионе. В третьих, и этого в Греции почти больше нет нигде - остров связан с материком узкой песчаной дорожкой, которая в наши дни превратилась в асфальтовую. Проезжая по ней, можно наблюдать рыбные сети Иварс - именно так осуществляется рыбная ловля в этих краях.
Само собой разумеется, что имеет смысл посетить местные таверны. Местные мелководные песчаные пляжи в сочетании с дикой нетронутой природой создают уникальную атмосферу - возможно, именно поэтому в свое время этот остров хотел купить Аристотель Онассис. Но передумал и купил остров Скорпиос. Наверное захотел большего уединения.

Koronisia
Located in the SW of the city of Arta, Koronisia is the largest island in Ambracian Gulf and the only one which is inhabited today. This picturesque island is separated from the plain of Arta by the lagoon Logarou, but connected to neighboring Salaora with a sandy “suture”. Recently, on the suture an asphalted road was constructed, which allows easy access to Koronisia and offers a magical journey among the traditional “Ivars” (fishing facilities) of the lagoons where fish and shrimp are caught. That is why Koronisia is famous for its fish taverns. It is one of the most beautiful, pure and pristine parts of Greece, as the topography of the landscape combines the beauty and the wildness of the Greek mountains with the mild and shallow beaches of the Ambracian Gulf and the fertile valley of Arachthos river that crosses it. No wonder the big tycoon Aristotle Onassis was interested to buy Koronisia, before he ended up buying the island of Scorpios.
