Кедродасос
Один из самых нетронутых цивилизацией пляжей Крита называется Кедродасос. В переводе это название означает - “кедровый лес”. Этот самый кедровый лес занимает площадь порядка 110 гектаров и располагается в 73 километрах к юго-западу от Ханьи на небольшом островке около другого, более крупного острова Элафониси, который также необитаем. Из Ханьи придется ехать по грунтовой дороге, а с Элафониси до Кедродасос можно добраться только вброд. Путь не их легких, но безусловно того стоит. Главная изюминка этого места - сочетание зелени, золотого песка и бирюзовой воды. Организованных пляжей с зонтиками, громкой музыкой и барами вы тут не найдете. Это и неудивительно - Кедродасос входит в программу охраны природы NATURA. По этой причине кемпингов тут не предусмотрено, а отдыхать дикарями в собственных палатках и вовсе незаконно. Местные кедры довольно хрупки и растут очень медленно - примерно 1 сантиметр в год. Поэтому вечеринки здесь устраивать не рекомендуется.
Как добраться до пляжа Кедродасос на Крите:
- на машине из Ханьи (72,5 км) по трассе Киссаму Ханьон E65/E090 и местной Калудианон-Хрискалитиссас
- на машине из Палеохоры (30 км) по местной трассе Стровлон-Палеохорас

Kedrodasos
Would you like to swim to an exotic beach, famous for its wild beauty, but still quite virgin, so you can enjoy the waters and the nature even without any kind of cloth on your body? Pick Kedrodasos. In English it means Cedars’ Forest and this is exactly what you will see as soon as your feet reach the thick white sand: Hundreds of perennial cedars covering a vast area of 110 acres, along with sand hills and crystal clear turquoise waters. Oh yes, God was in a great mood when he created the Cretan beaches!
Kedrodasos is located at the south of Elafonisi and about 73 km southwest of Chania. The access is not exactly piece of cake, as you will have to drive on a dirt road after a point (or, if you do not mind the inconvenience, you can go on foot from Elafonisi). But the place totally deserves it. If you are brave enough to explore the area under the hot sun, you will also discover other smaller (and private) bays.
As the “civilization” has not reach Kedrodasos yet (thank God for it!), the beach is not organized, so make sure that you will have umbrellas, water and refreshments with you. The nudists and the campers adore Kedrodasos, although the camping is illegal also here, so beware.
Just for the record, Kedrodasos is integrated in NATURA, while the old growth cedars are protected by a special environmental program, since the growth is extremely difficult and slow (1 cm per year). So be good with these cedars, because they are very fragile and you do respect the nature, right?
How to get there: By car from Chania (distance 72,5km) via EO Kissamou Chanion/VOAK/E65/E090 and Provincial Road via Kaloudianon-Chrisoskalitissas, from Palaiochora (distance 30 km) via Provincial Road Strovlon-Palaiochoras.
