Public Markets
The public market is an institution in Greece and especially in Athens. Each district and neighborhood of the city has its own, which takes place once a week in a designated place, day and hours. The housewives prefer to shop their fruits and vegetables at the public market, mainly because they can find there a great variety and different pricing (from bench to bench). However, in the public markets one can also find household goods, clothing, carpets and other items. In essence, the public market is a weekly outdoor festival, with traders touting their treatise and hundreds of buyers ready to bargain in order to fill their carts with the best products in the lowest price. Shopping therapy!
