Джордж Вентурис: Искусство фотографии

Джордж Вентурис- это знаменитый греческий фотограф, живущий на острове Санторини и путешествующий по всей Греции. Он фотографирует отели, компании,  а также для себя. Его замечательные фотографии представлены во многих крупных греческих журналах. Но самой любимой его темой являются свадебная фотография. Он рассказал нам о своей работе и поделился некоторыми снимками.

 

Greece-Guideline: Скажи, почему пары так часто выбирают остров Санторини для проведения свадебных церемоний?

Джордж Вентурис: Это сочетание уникального ландшафта и архитектуры а так же качества услуг.

 

G.G.: Существуют  какие-то особенные свадебные обычаи в Санторини?

Д.В.: Безусловно! Помимо традиционных греческих сладостей, которые принято раздавать гостям церемонии, существует обычай разбивания граната, перед тем как пара переступает порог своего дома, или, например, принято когда свекровь натирает невесту мёдом. Обряд метания риса в жениха и невесту во время исполнения танца Исаии- один из древнейших в Греции. Сейчас все чаще этот обряд проводится не внутри храма, а за его пределами.

 

G.G.: Расскажи о каком нибудь смешном или курьезном случае в твоей работе.

Д.В.: Как-то я работал с одной парой из Индии, так жених пришел на церемонию босиком, а для невесты было выбрано не белое свадебное платье, как она хотела, а вечернее черное! Пришлось мне одолжить бедолаге свои ботинки ,на три размера больше! Никогда не забуду внешний вид той женщины. Самое смешное в этой истории то, что у жениха имеется своя обувная фабрика в Дели.

 

G.G.: А какая свадьба из тех, на которых ты работал была самая причудливая?

Д.В: Было довольно много свадеб, которые чем-нибудь выделялись, потому что все хотят устроить что-нибудь необычное, но не по сути, а деталями. Например невеста была с подружками опять же босиком, или, например, пара прибыла на круизном лайнере, буквально за пару часов поженились и сразу же отчалили. У каждой пары есть свои “фишки” по большому счету- надо просто уметь это увидеть. Как они дают клятву друг другу, как смотрят друг на друга, есть ли у них гости или нет. Одна невеста- гимнастка после полуночи переоделась из свадебного платья в спортивный костюм и танцевала в таком виде до утра.

 

G.G.:Какие места в Санторини пользуются наибольшей популярность для проведения свадебных фотосессий?

Д.В.: Безусловно это местечко под названием Оия, но я лично предпочитаю Имеровигли, а так же множество тихих и практически потайных мест, что бы избежать зевак и толпы. Так же, если пара живет в частном отеле, мы можем устроить фотосессию прямо там.

George Ventouris is a Greek photographer, very well known for his work. He lives in the island of Santorini, but he travels all around Greece to take photographs for hotels, for companies and for himself. His wonderful photos were published in the major Greek magazines. One of his favorite themes is the wedding photography. He shares with us some of his experiences and photographs.

 

Greece-Guideline: Why do many couples choose Santorini for their wedding?

George Ventouris: Due to the unique landscape and the architecture and also for the services provided on the island.

 

G.G.: Are there any particular wedding customs in Santorini?

G.V.: There are some special local sweets, which are customary though throughout Greece, as also some traditions, like the habits to break a pomegranate when the couple enters home or being nourished honey by the mother in law. The rice throwing during the Dance of Isaiah is an ancient Greek custom… Now the guests prefer to throw it outside the church. In civil weddings they throw rose petals.

 

G.G.: Do Russians choose the island for their wedding ceremony?

G.V.: Yes, quite many couples come from Russia.

 

G.G.: Narrate us a funny or weird incident that happened during a photography shooting.

G.V.: I was approached by a very polite couple from India for a wedding photography and we made an agreement. But by his own mistake, the groom showed up in the church barefoot and he had also bought for his wife a black dinner dress and not a white wedding dress as she dreamed. So he had to borrow my shoes (3 sizes bigger!). As we stood there, another bride showed up with her husband and with flowers! I will never forget the look of the woman nor their panicky question about where we could find flowers… The worst of all was that the husband has a shoe factory in Delhi or Mumbai! It took us a little more time, but eventually all went beautifully!

 

G.G.: Which was the most fanciful wedding you’ve ever photographed?

G.V.: There have been many weddings that stood out, because they escaped from the typical, but not in total, more in details. For instance, a bride had come with her girlfriends barefoot, and a few couples came on cruise, got married and left immediately. Couples overreach, I think, in too many cases and you can feel it by the way they look at each other while they give their oaths, whether they have guests or not. A gymnast bride, after midnight, had put off her bridal gown, had wore sport clothes and had been dancing till the morning.

 

G.G.: Which are the most popular spots for wedding photo shoots in Santorini?

G.V.: Oia for sure, but currently I prefer Imerovigli and lots other quiet and hidden places in order to avoid the crowds.
