Exhibition: “Black And White Stories”
Do you like the artistic pictures in black and white? Would you enjoy stories about the dark side of the relationships, the passionate emotions and the dead end social environment? If so, you should definitely pay a visit to the State Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki that currently presents a very interesting exhibition. The “Black And White Stories” by the painter Miltos Skouras includes 44 paintings that can be also described as painting frames, monochrome paintings or pictures that are pending in the middle of a narration with different starting points such as cinema, painting, literature, photography and comics.

Each of the paintings contains a potentially pending story to reveal. The paintings are accompanied by known literary text extracts composing a possible narrative version. These texts, which are not always placed in the same order that they are found in the writings from which they originate, are texts of Jack London, George Simenon, Raymond Chandler, Jack Kerouac, Alejandro Bentivoglio, Michelangelo Antonioni, Julio Cortazar, Milan Kundera, Haruki Murakami, Paco Ignacio Taibo II, John Cheevern, Jim Tomson, Varely Larbaut, James Ellroy, Toni Morrison, John Cheever, John Fowles, Pascal Bruckner, Malcolm Lowry, George Pelecanos, F.
