Храм Святого Анаргирия Колокинти
Где-то на границе Плаки и Анафиотики, по соседству с островными постройками можно найти один из знаменитейших христианских храмов Афин. Называется он Храм Святого Анаргирия Колокинти. Возведен он был примерно в 1600 году поверх семейной усыпальницы семьи Палеологос. В дальнейшем же он был “под патронажем” семьи Колокинтус. В 1651 году храм был преобразован в женский монастырь и функционировал в этом качестве вплоть до 1700 года, когда был преобразован в мужской. В середине XVIII века он попал под юрисдикцию Иерусалимсого Патриархата. Стиль в котором выполнен этот храм сформировался в Афинах в период турецкой оккупации. В наши дни именно сюда пребывает благодатный огонь из Иерусалима каждую великую субботу. И вдальнейшем разносится по всем православным храмам Греции.

Church Saint Anargyroi Kolokynthoi
In the picturesque neighborhood Anafiotika in Athens, walking through the beautiful cobbled roads with the Cycladic color, you will encounter one of the most famous temples of the city. The church Saint Anargyroi Kolokynthoi was built around 1600 AD over the tomb of the family Paleologos, but it was founded by the family Kolokynthous. The church was converted into a monastery in 1651. It functioned as a convent until 1700 and it was converted into a male monastery until the mid-18th century, when it came under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. The temple is built in the architectural style that was formed only in Athens during the Turkish occupation. It is a single-aisled churche with a cylindrical dome and smaller domes that lead to tornadoes. The porch, the throne and the wall paintings were added later, during the renovation in 1858. Today the church is also known as a dependency of the Holy Sepulchre, and in this temple is where the Holy Fire arrives firstly every Holy Saturday.
