София Саригианиду: секреты свадебного макияжа

ГГ: Каким должен быть макияж невесты?
СС: Ключевое слово для свадебного макияжа - “элегантность”. Свой собственный стиль есть у каждой женщины, но в день свадьбы абсолютно необходимо выглядеть элегантно. Самое главное для невесты в этот важный день выглядеть естественно и, что называется, быть собой. А следовать всем советам визажиста незачем, ведь это может привести к потере собственного стиля. Очень важно чувствовать себя комфортно и не думать о том, правильный выбор сделан или нет.
ГГ: Как происходит сама процедура наложения мэйкапа?
СС: Несмотря на всю важность процедура довольно простая. Для начала важно найти именно “своего” визажиста, который хорошо понимает и уважает стиль девушки. Профессионалы как правило имеют примеры своих работ в интернете, что помогает девушке понять что именно она хотела бы. Когда этот этап пройден, следующий шаг - это личная встреча и обсуждения деталей. Невеста показывает визажисту свадебное платье и дальше визажист делает пробный вариант макияжа. Пробным путем выясняется, какой из вариантов невесте нравится больше всего. Именно этот вариант макияжа невеста и будет иметь в день своей свадьбы.
ГГ: Какие непредвиденные обстоятельства могут возникнуть при наложении макияжа в день торжества?
СС: Собственно, под непредвиденными обстоятельствами можно понимать все, что происходит вокруг невесты в этот день. Это и предпраздничная суета, и довольно шумные родственники и подружки невесты, которые в этот момент как правило находятся где-то неподалеку и очень хотят увидеть ее во всей красе. Избежать этого вряд ли получится, да и не надо: именно эти детали создают неповторимую атмосферу греческой свадьбы.
ГГ: Было ли что-то в твоей карьере, что тебя по-настоящему возмутило во время твоей работы?
СС: Да! Одна подруга детства настаивала на том, что бы я ей подвела глаза синим цветом металлического оттенка.
ГГ: Бывали ли какие-то забавные ситуации во время наложения макияжа?
СС: Да! Один раз тетя невесты решила погладить покрывало, в то время как я делала свою работу, и конечно же сожгла его. Даже не знаю как это все произошло, но выглядело точно как в кино!
ГГ: Была ли какая-то свадьба, которая запомнилась больше других?
СС: Конечно! Двое моих друзей венчались на острове. Все происходило в маленькой часовне на берегу моря. Для невесты мы выбрали нежный, совсем деликатный вариант макияжа, лишь немного подвели глаза. Волосы оставили распущенными. Они развивались на фоне моря как украшение острова. Это была невероятно трогательная церемония.
ГГ: Скажи как профессионал: что проще, а что сложнее делать - макияж для невесты или работать с моделью во время показа или фотосъемки?
СС: Лично для меня более сложно работать с невестой. Я имею ввиду даже не сложность самого макияжа, а весь процесс. Тут очень важно сохранить баланс между желанием невесты и тем, что ей (по твоему мнению) больше соответствует. Особенно сложно, когда приходится иметь дело с различными мнениями (мамы или друзей), в то время как решение должна принимать именно невеста. Впрочем, все эти сложности так или иначе преодолеваются.

Sophia Sarigiannidou: The secrets of the bridal make-up
Sophia was born in Thessaloniki, but the last few years she lives in Athens. She is a professional make-up artist and hair-stylist, very well known in Greece. She works in photo shootings for big Greek magazines and advertisements and in fashion shows as well, and she loves each and every one of her works. But not only the models have the luck to work with Sophia, since she is also specialized in the bridal make-up. After all, behind a beautiful bride there is always an experienced make-up artist. In this case, this experienced make-up artist is Sophia, who shares some of her secrets with us.
Greece Guideline: How should the bridal make-up be?
Sophia Sarigiannidou: The key word for the bridal make-up is “elegant”. Each girl has her own style and it is absolutely necessary to keep this style even that day, but in an elegant way. Above all it is good for a bride to be herself and not to follow the “follies” of a professional make-up artist who may lead her to unknown paths. It is essential for her to feel completely comfortable with her choices in such an important day of her life, without having second thoughts if she made the right choice or not.
G.G.: What is the usual required procedure?
S.S.: The procedure is very simple but very essential. The most important of all is the bride to choose the right for her make-up artist. Which means that she needs to do a research in order to find the appropriate person who will respect her style and her needs. There are many professionals who present their work on internet, so the bride can make her selection. Then she will have to check if she really can communicate with the make-up artist she chose. Once this is done, typically the next step is a test. During an appointment, after the bride has explained how she imagines herself on that day and how her bridal dress looks like, the make-up artist can give suggestions and work on a few different make-ups, before they both select the desired one.
G.G.: What are the contingencies that may occur during the bridal make-up?
S.S.: On that day, although the bride wants to feel calm, unfortunately it never happens. Always something happens which tries her patience: Last minute’s arrangements, quite noisy relatives, an aunt or grandmother who may sing next to her ear, bridesmaids who have been brought to see the bride before the ceremony, all these details which create an atmosphere of a pure Greek wedding!
G.G.: What is the most outrageous thing you have ever been asked to do for a bridal make-up?
S.S.: A friend from my childhood insisted to put an electric blue eye shadow!
G.G.: Do you remember a jocular (pleasant or unpleasant) during a bridal make-up;
S.S.: Yes! I will never forget a bride whose aunt had taken the veil to iron it during the make-up! I do not know how it happened and she burnt the veil, leaving even the trace of the iron on it, like in the movies. We ended up sewing its laces on a tulle from a florist shop.
G.G.: Is there any wedding you remember in particular?
S.S.: Of course there is! Two of my friends were married in an island. It was a very cool wedding, in a chapel by the sea, with many friends and a lot of love! We had chosen to do a gentle make-up with a slight intensity in her eyes. Her hair was free with a gentle undulation and bougainvilleas of the island as decoration! It was a beautiful and very very touching wedding, as the love of these two kids diffused to all of us!
G.G.: As a professional make-up artist, do you think that it is easier or harder to make-up a common woman for her wedding than a model for a photo shooting?
S.S.: I think that it is more difficult to make-up a girl for her wedding. Not for the make-up itself, but for the whole process. Very often you need to try to keep the equilibrium between the desire and what really fits to the specific bride. It is also unhelpful when you have to deal with many different opinions. The decision on how she will look that day must be made by the bride herself and not by a friend or her mommy. All obstacles however can be overcome with a little goodwill.
